Selected Educational Statistics 1999-2000. (As on 30th September, 1999)

Abstract

Selected Educational Statistics is an annual publication of the Education Department in the Ministry of Human Resource Development. This publication furnishes quick estimates pertaining to statistics covering the number of educational institutions, enrolment, teachers and selected census data on population and literacy. Where we have not received complete and validated data from the States, we have repeated the data for the preceding years on the premise that users prefer a timely publication, however tentative, to a perfect but dated publication. Data have been repeated in respect of Bihar, J&K, Karnataka and Delhi for all stages; Gujarat for Primary, Middle & Higher Education and Tripura for Pre-Primary Education.
