Sixth All India Educational Survey National Tables Volume I Educational Facilities in Rural and Urban Areas

Abstract

T he National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has been organising educational surveys and publishing survey reports w lich provide detailed educational statistics and information for planning. Five such surveys have been organised and reports have been brought out during the last three decades. The Sixth All India Educational Survey (AIES) was Initiated as a joint project with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for creating an effective database on school education. Computerisation of this survey data has twin objectives— to build up a database on school education at district/state headquarters to facilitate and update essential information, and make available data on magnetic media for a wider dissemination of reports generated for various administrative units.
