The mid-term appraisal of the Third Five-Year Plan has been undertaken with the object of focussing attention on those aspects of the implementation of the Plan which require special attention at this stage, so that more rapid progress may be achieved during the next two years. The report describes progress in carrying out the programmes and policies embodied in the Plan during the three years, 1961-62 to 1963-64. Wherever possible it also indicates, on the basis of information at present available, the levels of production and development which are likely to be realised by the end of the plan period.en_US
