Abstract

“Madras in 1948” is a general summary of the salient features of the administration during the calendar year 1948. The Madras Administration Report, 1947-48, which is being published simultaneously, contains detailed information on the work of the various departments in the official year 1947-48. Madras presidency later became Tamil Nadu state and the reports continued to be published as Tamil Nadu Administrative Reports.
