Economic Survey of Karnataka 2013-14

Abstract

The preparation of the Economic Survey 2013-14 was coordinated by Ms. Bidisha Chaudhuri, Research Consultant and Additional Secretary, State Planning Board and Prof. S. Madheswaran, Adviser, Planning Department (on deputation from ISEC). The objective of the Economic Survey is to analyse the performance of the State across sectors and to identify specific gaps and challenges for initiating appropriate action. The document highlights the macroeconomic profile of the State and provides basic information and data on economic policies and development programmes being implemented by the Government. This annual document presents a multi-sectoral assessment of the State and serves as a benchmark for preparation of the State's budget and other key economic policies. It also enables policy makers to formulate suitable programmes/schemes.
