Abstract

This is the twenty-eighth issue of the Statistical Hand Book after the one published in 1989. It seeks to present, important Statistical information about West Bengal in a Compact form. Attempts have been made to incorporate latest available informations as far as possible maintaining the continuity of the time series of the data published in the earlier issue. Statewise data on a few important items of general interest are also given in the appendices. State figures shown in the appendices may sometimes differ slightly from data presented In the relevant tables due to the difference In their sources.
