dc.description.abstractThe Standing Committee had earlier presented its two Interim Reports to the Prime Minister on "Inter-Sectoral Issues Relating to Tribal Development" in October 2005 and on "Displacement, Resettlement and Rehabilitation of Scheduled Tribes' April, 2007. On the basis mainly on the recommendations of these two Reports, the Government has (i) enacted the Scheduled Tribes.and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 .(No.2 of 2007) ('Forest Rights Act ') (publ ished in the Gazette of India on 2.1.2007), and has (ii) later notified the new National Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy, 2007 on 31.10.2007.en_US
