Statistical Handbook 1988 (West Bengal)

Abstract

This is he Twenty sixth issue of the Statistical Hand Book. It seeks to present important statistical information about West Bengal in a compact form. Attempts have been made to incorporate latest available information upto the crop year 1988-89 {i.e. July 1988 to 30th June 1989) as far as possible. Some important additional data on availability of certain basic amenities in the rural areas of West Bengal are induced in this issue. Statewise data on a few important items of general interest are also given in the appendices. These comparative figures under the appendices have been compiled from various publications of the Government of India. State figures shown in the appendices may sometimes silently differ from data presented in the relevant tables.
