Draft Annual Plan 1988-89 Vol. I Sectoral Profile (Uttar Pradesh)

Abstract

Education occupies a significant role in the development process. Considering the importance of education the directive principles of the constitution lay down that tree compulsory education shall be provided to all children up to the age of 14 years. The national policy of education 1986 and the new 20 point programme also reiterate the commitment of the Government for universalisation of primary education and improving the content of education at all levels. The draft annual plan 1988-89 has been prepared keeping in view the priorities of the national education policy and strategy of the Seventh Plan.
