Abstract:	Graphic Era Institute o f Technology, Dehradun, Uttarakhand had earlier applied for deemed to be university status under de-novo category through Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Later on, the Institute requested UGC to consider its proposal under general category. Accordingly, the Chairman, UGC constituted an Expert Committee, to make an on the spot assessment of the existing infrastructure and academic facilities and also of its future potential for considering conferment of deemed to be university status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956
